CAAB declared Cox's Bazar Airport international from 2 October 2025 and listed customs, immigration, health and quarantine services 1. Passenger fees still depend on the booked route 2. A domestic departure carries Tk 25 passenger service, Tk 100 development and Tk 70 security charges 2. An international departure carries Tk 500 service plus USD 11 for SAARC or USD 20 elsewhere 2. Confirm that the booked flight itself is international.

International designation and the page conflict

CAAB's AIP supplement says Cox's Bazar Airport became an international airport from 2 October 2025 1. It lists customs, immigration, health and quarantine services as available 1. This is the newer formal aeronautical record.

CAAB's general airport page still describes Cox's Bazar as a domestic airport and lists domestic passenger operators 3. That page conflicts with the newer AIP designation. The designation does not mean every scheduled flight from CXB is international. Check the itinerary and operating airline.

Charges depend on the booked route

The national CAAB schedule applies the amount by destination, not by the airport's label 2. A domestic Cox's Bazar to Dhaka ticket uses the domestic row. A direct international ticket would use the relevant international row.

How the charges are collected

CAAB says the passenger service charge is collected when the ticket is bought 2. Its AIP places the development and passenger-security amounts on the departing ticket 2. The airline tax breakdown should show the charged items.

Children under two, qualifying transit passengers and listed state visitors are exempt from the passenger service charge 2. The exemption text does not remove every other ticket tax.

Airport facts and facilities

The AIP gives runway 17/35 a length of 2,743 metres and lists air traffic, meteorological, customs, immigration, health and quarantine services 1. CAAB's airport page gives CXB as the IATA code and VGCB as the ICAO code 3.

The airport page places the airport 1.5 km from Cox's Bazar city 3. It lists car parking, drinking water, VIP and CIP lounges, ramps, wheelchairs and free Wi-Fi 3. It does not publish a parking amount, so no parking price is stated here.

Development work does not set a passenger fee

CAAB's site records an ongoing runway expansion project at Cox's Bazar 4. The international designation and construction record do not create a new passenger surcharge by themselves 1,4. No Cox's Bazar-only passenger charge was found in the official schedule checked on 19 October 2026 2.

Contact and full trip cost

CAAB publishes +880 2333346980 for the airport director's office 3. Use the airline for live schedules, check-in and baggage. Travel tax, ticket excise duty, fare, baggage and ground transport are separate from the three CAAB passenger amounts.
