Ticket charges for a Sylhet departure

CAAB's Aeronautical Information Publication sets passenger charges for departures from Bangladesh airports 1. The destination category controls the amount.

Collection and exemptions

CAAB collects the passenger service charge when the ticket is purchased, and it places the development and passenger-security fees on the departing ticket 1. A passenger should not be asked to hand these standard ticket fees to an unofficial collector at the terminal.

A child under two is exempt from the passenger service charge 1. Qualifying transit passengers and listed state visitors receive the same service-charge exemption 1. The rule does not state that every other tax on the ticket disappears.

Published parking rates

CAAB's Osmani page lists Tk 60 for the first five hours for a car, jeep or microbus, followed by Tk 25 per hour after five hours and up to 24 hours 2.

For a bus, minibus or truck from three to five tons, it lists Tk 150 for the first five hours and Tk 60 per hour after five hours up to 24 hours 2. CAAB says vehicles remaining after 24 hours should be handed to law enforcement 2. Confirm the rate at entry as the page does not give an effective date.

Airport status and location

CAAB says national and international airlines operate domestic and international passenger and cargo flights at Osmani 2. The airport's IATA code is ZYL and its ICAO code is VGSY 2.

The airport is 15 km north-east of Sylhet city 2. Build road time into the travel plan and use the airline, not the airport history page, for the current flight schedule.

Contact and local checks

CAAB publishes the airport director's office number as +880 821 714243 and email as [email protected] 3. Use the airport contact for a facility question and the operating airline for check-in, baggage or delay information.

The official airport page lists current operations but does not publish every commercial service price 2. Do not assume that parking, wrapping, food or transport is included in the airline ticket.

Other taxes on the trip

Travel tax and excise duty are separate from the CAAB service, development and security amounts. A domestic connection followed by an international flight can have more than one ticket component. Check the full airline breakdown before comparing fares.
