Passenger charges by route

CAAB sets the ticket charges for passengers departing from airports in Bangladesh 1. Shah Amanat does not have a separate published passenger schedule in the AIP.

Payment and exemptions

CAAB says the passenger service charge is collected at ticket purchase 1. Development and passenger-security fees are placed on departing tickets 1. Ask the airline for the fare and tax breakdown if the items are unclear.

Children under two and qualifying transit passengers are exempt from the passenger service charge 1. The same AIP section lists state-visit exemptions 1. It does not give those travellers a blanket waiver from every tax on a ticket.

Published parking rates

CAAB's Shah Amanat page lists Tk 60 for the first five hours for a car, jeep or microbus. After five hours and up to 24 hours, it lists Tk 25 per hour 2.

For a bus, minibus or truck from three to five tons, the page lists Tk 150 for the first five hours and Tk 60 per hour after that up to 24 hours 2. The page says a vehicle should be handed to law enforcement after 24 hours 2. Confirm the rate at the entrance as the page gives no effective date.

Airport and location

CAAB identifies Shah Amanat as Bangladesh's second largest airport and says domestic and international passenger and cargo flights operate there 2. Its IATA code is CGP and its ICAO code is VGEG 2.

The airport is at Patenga beside the Karnaphuli River. CAAB places it 20 km west of Chattogram port and 18 km south of Chattogram railway station 2. Travel time depends on city traffic and should be checked on the day.

Passenger facilities and contacts

The CAAB page confirms luggage wrapping and car parking 2. It publishes the airport director's office number as +880 2 41350100 and the airport PABX range as +880 2 41350110 to 21 2. Use airline channels for live flight changes.

CAAB lists planned work including a parallel taxiway, runway extension, two boarding bridges and a cargo warehouse 2. A future-work list is not confirmation that a facility is complete.

Costs outside this airport page

Bangladesh travel tax and ticket excise duty are separate from the CAAB charges. Airline fare, baggage, food, wrapping and ground transport can add more. Add only charges shown in the airline price or an official service notice.
