Child passport fee in Bangladesh
The official rule gives every applicant under 18 a 48-page passport with five-year validity 1. The domestic fee is Tk 4,025 for regular delivery, Tk 6,325 for express delivery and Tk 8,625 for super express delivery 2. These figures include 15% VAT 2.
Identity documents
A child under 18 must use an online Birth Registration Certificate in English 1. If the child has no NID, the application must state the NID number of the father or mother 1. Fill the form from the child's BRC and check every spelling and date before submission.
For an adopted child or a legal guardianship case, submit the order issued by the Security Services Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs 1. A private letter is not the order named in the portal instruction.
Photo rules for children
Most applicants have their face image taken digitally at enrolment 3. For a child below six, the portal instruction requires a lab-printed 3R photograph with a grey background 1. The portal FAQ describes the photo exception as applying to children up to five, which is the same practical age group 3.
The FAQ says both parents must provide their photos with an application for a child up to 15 3. Mission checklists may state their own size and copy rules. The Hague mission, for example, asks for copies of both parents' passports and parent photographs for a minor application 5.
Application and enrolment
Complete the official online form and submit it to the passport office linked to the present address 1. The standard application does not need document attestation 1. Bring the original BRC and any parent identity records requested by the office.
A child application is not a route to a ten-year or 64-page book. The portal rule limits all under-18 applications to five years and 48 pages 1. The adult fee table should not be used to select a different book for a child.
Collecting the passport
For a minor, the father or mother can collect the passport directly 4. Another person can collect it with that person's NID card and an authorisation letter from the child's father or mother 4. Take the delivery receipt and any other record named by the office.
Child applications abroad
The central portal publishes mission fees in US dollars, but it does not label every minor as a student 2. A mission may require current student evidence before giving a student rate. The Hague mission asks for a valid enrolment letter and student ID for its student discount 5.
Check the current page of the mission serving the child's country of residence. Local currency, payment instructions, appointment rules and document copies can differ by mission 2,5.
