A Bangladesh tourist should expect the sponsored Oman visa route, not assume eligibility for the unsponsored Group 1 e-visa 1,2. Royal Oman Police says a licensed Omani tourism company or hotel can sponsor a tourist of any nationality 2. The published tourist-visa fee is OMR 20 for a stay up to 30 days, extendable for a similar period 2. The sponsor submits the application and may charge private service costs on top.

Use the eligibility wizard first

Royal Oman Police operates the eVisa portal and its eligibility wizard 1. The result depends on nationality, purpose and GCC residence. Bangladesh travellers should enter their own data rather than copy a visa type shown for another passport.

The portal's example of OMR 5 for 10 days and OMR 20 for 30 days is for Group 1 nationality eligibility 1. It does not establish that a Bangladesh passport can use that unsponsored route.

The sponsored tourist route

Royal Oman Police says a tourist visa can be issued under the sponsorship of a licensed tourism company or hotel for any nationality 2. The sponsor files the electronic form and supplies its company papers.

The published government fee is OMR 20 2. Ask the sponsor for an itemised quote that separates that fee from hotel, insurance, handling and any refundable amount.

Documents and stay

The sponsored application includes the traveller's passport copy and photographs, plus a sponsor letter and the sponsor's registration records 2. The passport needs at least six months of validity.

The tourist stay is up to 30 days and the published rule permits an extension for a similar period 2. An extension needs approval and payment under the current service.

Payment in the eVisa system

The sponsored-visa guide shows the visa fee, transaction fee and any fine as separate items in the payment summary 3. The payer can download a receipt containing traveller and sponsor details.

Save that receipt and the issued visa. A sponsor's total can exceed OMR 20, but the extra amount should be explained rather than presented as the government visa fee.

Workers need the employer route

A tourist visa is not permission to work. Royal Oman Police describes employment-related visas as employer-requested routes with government approval and company documents 4.

A Bangladesh worker should match the employer, job contract, Oman visa and Bangladesh clearance records before travel. Do not replace that route with a tourism sponsor.
