Bangladesh passports need a visa
The Malaysian Immigration Department includes Bangladesh in its list of countries whose citizens must obtain a visa before entry 1. Its official eVISA FAQ includes Bangladesh among nationalities that can apply online for a tourist eVISA 3.
Use only malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my. Immigration has published a notice naming that address as the official application portal 5.
The RM20 fee is not the whole online payment
The country fee table sets the Bangladesh visa fee at RM20 2. The eVISA FAQ lists an RM105 processing charge on top, plus 0.8% for an e-commerce card payment or 1.7% for the named e-wallet methods 3.
A payment screen may show the visa fee, processing charge and service percentage separately. Save the itemised receipt. Private help purchased outside the official portal is not part of the published government table.
Tourist eVISA documents
The official FAQ asks for a studio passport photo, a passport biodata page with more than six months' validity from travel, return ticket where applicable and proof of paid accommodation 3. A minor can need a birth certificate.
Immigration advises applying at least two weeks before departure 3. The eVISA can be printed from the account after approval. Approval does not replace the entry decision at the border.
Validity and allowed stay are different
The FAQ says an eVISA is valid for six months from issue, apart from the foreign-worker category, which is valid for three months 3. Visa validity is the period in which it can be used for entry.
The allowed stay depends on the visa and nationality. The multiple-entry eVISA allows up to 30 days for each entry under the published FAQ 3. Read the issued notice and entry stamp.
Workers need prior approval
Malaysia's foreign-worker page says a worker enters through designated points with a Visa With Reference issued by Immigration and an entry visa issued by the Malaysian mission 4. It lists Bangladesh in the foreign-worker fee table.
The table shows RM20 for the Bangladesh visa and RM500 for the security bond, alongside sector levies, an RM60 temporary-employment pass and RM125 processing charge 4. Those are employer-route items and should not be added to a tourist budget.
